JOURNAL NOTES
Lessons from this camp
- Frustrations do occur
- An athlete is nothing without its body = respect it, be patient with it and zeal for it.
- Some stars need time to shine, others need clouds to leave the way so that they can shine. But until the skies do not open up, they need to prepare themselves, so that when the way is opened they can make up for the time waiting.
- There are different ways to do many things, respect all, consider some and follow as much as possible. (In theis case, the more the better)
- Do not depend on other people to set your expectation standards. Base them on your mindset, your physical capabilities at the time. Because in the world of sports you already are in a battle against an opponent, it is impossible to carry on a battle against yourself and your expectations.
- Strengthen your mind, that does not mean not to look disappointed it simply means that it is always in your favor.
- Learn how to sprawl, instead of rolling, this is because rolling it dangerous and could lead to possible accidents like concussions. => Sprawling is more efficient in terms of keeping your head high and still watching the game, and getting up faster.
- Always be 5 minutes early, because 5 minutes early is on time, on time is late and late is unacceptable.
- Enough is enough, when your body is crying for help, there is just no use in asking more of it. Remember not every match is your last, you need to keep healthy and that is the main priority.
- Taking a time out now, means not taking ages sitting out in the future.
- WORKING AS A TEAM: There was always greatness in individuals but to find greatness within a group requires a lot of pride and recognition among each other. It is all abut believing and concentrating, on what we have and what we can become. Not on others and how much they are achieving, because by looking sideways you loose a split of a second during a race.
- HArd to get my mind to enjoy the camp, since there was the pressure and the shot of being recruted and getting the coaches to see you as someone of skill.
