Why would be the best St. Francis representative?
Dear School Coordinators,
My name is Katherine Rifiotis, I am a Year 12 student. When being exposed to this opportunity, to represent the school at an international level, my eyes lit up, I quickly realized the significance of such event. I have been here in school since the first year of its opening. Accompanying the school grow up has given me the opportunity to grow with it. St. Francis has provided me with many opportunities to push me to my limits in all aspects. The opening of a Student Council and and the sports ECAs have been part of my story, having enrolled in sports, theater productions and school representation. The IB Andes trip has been the first and unique experience to represent the school at an international environment, and it would be amazing if I could repeat that and meet academics and personalities so inspiring as I did when meeting the coordinators/guides in the trip.
There are many key aspects when being a representative of an entity, a group and even a school that makes this honor successful. Whenever I get to meet representatives from other universities, other sports clubs and even other countries, there is always this immediate association between ones personality type and the place of representation. It is fairly impossible to argue otherwise, it is something which occurs on a first impression basis. Having taken this into consideration I strongly believe that, I would truly fit the school profile and therefore represent it at its best, not simply because of the behavior and reputation in academics and extracurriculars which I have strived to achieve, but mainly because I constructed my character and personality type based on the rules and values of this school. Here I created a personality which I am enthusiastically proud of. This international environment has provided me the chance to open my horizons towards other languages and cultures, here is where I discovered my passion for sociology and international relations, studies which I aim to graduate at in the near future. All these extra activities helped me create this attachment towards many different aspects of the school, it being athletic, artistic, academic and even political through the student guild; I tried my best to leave a mark in every part of them, and I would not be making justice of all this effort if I let this opportunity of representing what has entirely created me, at an international level.
In conclusion, I would be honored to be given this opportunity and would cease it in all manners possible to my capabilities. My communication skills, will be the key of my representation, as it has always been. In Argentina it would definitely take advantage of this to hear and share, everything lived at St. Francis and from it!
Thank You!
